22 new Fellows will be inducted into the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI) on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at a celebration dinner during the 2026 American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Annual Symposium. New Fellows are elected annually to the College by active members of ACMI.
AMIA’s Annual Symposium brings together leaders in biomedical and health informatics to share leading-edge research, innovations, and advances across the field, including clinical informatics, translational bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, consumer health informatics, public health informatics, and other emerging areas.

Election to ACMI is among the highest honors in the field and recognizes sustained excellence, leadership, and contributions to biomedical and health informatics. As the field continues to evolve, these Fellows are helping shape its future and impact on health and healthcare,” said Peter Embí, MD, MS, FACMI, FAMIA, FIAHSI, ACMI President.
The FACMI designation is a mark of distinction. Fellows represent distinguished leaders in the field of informatics, demonstrating thought leadership, deep expertise, and scholarly achievement. Their significant contributions to biomedicine and healthcare inform, educate, and inspire the informatics community to advance human health.

ACMI is an honorary College of elected Informatics Fellows from the United States and abroad who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics and who have met rigorous scholarly scrutiny by their peers. Incorporated in 1984, ACMI dissolved its separate corporate status to merge with the American Association for Medical Systems and Informatics (AAMSI) and the Symposium on Computer Applications in Medical Care (SCAMC), when AMIA was formed in 1989. The College now exists as an entity within AMIA, with its own bylaws and regulations.
