AMIA membership is open to everyone interested in the field of medical informatics. AMIA members are clinicians, researchers and educators, scientists and developers, government officials and policymakers, consultants and industry professionals, students, and much more. You are invited and welcome to join, regardless of experience and career path.
Navigate to your member profile and click on the Memberships/Renewals. You'll find information about your status and a link to renew. If you would like to renew your membership prior to November, please contact us directly so that we can assist you.

The AMIA Member Directory is located on AMIA Connect. The AMIA Member Directory is an exclusive AMIA member benefit and not available to nonmembers. Using the directory for commercial, institutional, or financial gain (including recruitment and/or bulk collection of data) is strictly prohibited.

The JAMIA Journal is a member benefit and is not available to nonmembers. The Journal is available online only. You must navigate from the Journal Access Center to access JAMIA articles.
Membership in the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) is nontransferable and nonrefundable. Members are required to provide accurate and complete personal information and to comply with AMIA’s Code of Conduct. Membership dues are assessed and payable on an annual basis.
Student/Trainee Membership Terms
Your expected graduation or completion date must be in the future. AMIA reserves the right to request proof of your student status at any time. May hold this membership type for up to four years.
Early Career
May hold this membership type for up to three years.
Group Membership Terms
Non-transferable and not retroactive. Refunds are not available for previous membership purchases. All memberships operate on a calendar year, from January 1 to December 31. Discounts apply solely to the specific member tier and cannot be combined with other membership tiers, discounts, or between institutions.
