Volunteer for an AMIA Committee

AMIA committee appointments are made on a two-year cycle. Current committee terms began July 1, 2026, and continue through June 30, 2028. The next volunteer recruitment cycle will open in 2028.

Individuals interested in future committee service are encouraged to submit a Volunteer Interest Form at any time. Volunteer submissions are retained and may be considered if vacancies occur during the current committee term or during the next appointment cycle.

Qualifications

Committee members must be a member of AMIA in good standing. Committee members have the overall responsibility of supporting the AMIA Board of Directors and carrying out the committee charges as set forth by the Board.

Specific composition, terms, roles and responsibilities are maintained in AMIA’s Committee Manual.

Please Note: The next regular committee appointment cycle will occur in 2028. Volunteer interest forms may be submitted at any time and will be kept on file for consideration for future openings.

Expectations

Committee members are expected to:

Support the mission of the organization
Participate in committee meetings (frequency varies by group)
Keep committee materials and conversations confidential
Respond timely to organizational requests
Support the majority decision
Be familiar with AMIA’s Conflicts of Interest Policy and AMIA’s Policy Regarding Speaking on Behalf of or Representing the Organization and Volunteer Reimbursement Policy
