AMIA Committees are a vital link to the success of the association. Committees and volunteers help ensure the information and knowledge shared with the membership, public and media is timely and accurate.

AMIA is looking for thoughtful, forward-thinking individuals with diverse experiences. We invite you to get involved and usher in the next era in informatics.

Call for Participation

The next Call for Participation will take place in Fall 2023 to fill the 2024-2025 committees. In the meantime, if you are interested in serving on a committee in the future, we encourage you to complete the committee volunteer form at any time.

Committee members must be a member of AMIA in good standing. Committee members have the overall responsibility of supporting the AMIA Board of Directors and carrying out the committee charges as set forth by the Board.

Specific composition, terms, roles and responsibilities are maintained in AMIA’s Committee Manual.


Committee members are expected to:

  • Support the mission of the organization
  • Participate in committee meetings (frequency varies by group)
  • Keep committee materials and conversations confidential
  • Respond timely to organizational requests
  • Support the majority decision
  • Be familiar with AMIA’s Conflicts of Interest Policy and AMIA’s Policy Regarding Speaking on Behalf of or Representing the Organization and Volunteer Reimbursement Policy
