Public Biography
Dr. Tsui is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He also holds an Endowed Chair in Biomedical Informatics and Entrepreneurial Science at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is Director of the Tsui Laboratory. Dr. Tsui's research interests include clinical informatics, public health informatics, critical care informatics, mental health informatics, and peri-operative informatics using machine learning, natural language processing, large language models, real-time learning health systems, signal processing, and data engineering. He has published more than 150 papers, and his publications have been actively cited. Historic ACMI Biography
Dr. Rich Tsui developed pioneering biosurveillance and clinical decision support systems used nationally and internationally. His innovations in AI, NLP, EHR analytics, and real-time physiologic monitoring have advanced public health surveillance, critical care prediction, suicide prevention, learning health systems, and the training of future informatics researchers and leaders.
