Late-Breaking Poster Submissions
Late-Breaking Poster Call Now Open: Share Your Timely Work at AMIA 2025
Much has changed since the general call for submissions for AMIA 2025 closed. Amid policy and funding changes, the U.S. and other nations continue to see complex, urgent public health challenges that demand cross-domain collaboration — from healthcare delivery and public health surveillance to research and policy — highlighting the need for timely informatics-driven solutions and insights.
AMIA 2025 Scientific Program Committee (SPC) therefore invites late-breaking poster submissions that reflect the most current, high-relevance work across research, clinical care, public health, and related domains.
We especially welcome submissions addressing:
- Recent shifts in policy, funding, or priorities impacting informatics across research, clinical care, public health, life sciences, and related domains.
- Urgent public health informatics needs requiring innovative, cross-boundary approaches — such as integrating clinical and public health data systems, enabling real-time surveillance, addressing global health challenges, or supporting collaborative responses to population-level health crises.
- Translational biomedical informatics innovations from academic, health systems, and industry that address ongoing challenges in health care delivery, learning health systems, healthcare financing, disease detection, treatment optimization, health equity, and other facets of the health system.
Submission Format and Process
Late-breaking posters should follow the same format and guidelines as outlined in the general AMIA 2025 Call for Participation for regular and student posters. Please refer to the guidelines. Important: While submissions already reviewed during the general call are not eligible for resubmission as late-breaking posters, authors are encouraged to build on and enhance elements of their prior work. Previously submitted (accepted or non-accepted) content may be revised, expanded, and re-focused to create a new poster that aligns with the goals of this late-breaking call.
Submissions open August 1 and close September 3. All submissions will undergo an expedited review by members of the AMIA 2025 SPC. Decisions will be announced by September 17, prior to the AMIA 2025 Annual Symposium early bird registration deadline. All accepted late-breaking posters will be included in the AMIA 2025 conference proceedings. All accepted poster presenters are required to register for and attend the AMIA 2025 Annual Symposium, November 15–19, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. Poster authors are eligible for discounted speaker registration rates.
