Speaker Information

In your acceptance notification, you were advised that AMIA collects your slides in advance of your session in order to be pre-loaded on the laptops in your session room at the Royal Sonesta Houston.

Your presentation slides, along with the audio recording of your presentation (for the virtual collection), must be uploaded by Thursday, May 12, to ensure they will be loaded on the laptops in the session rooms of the conference venue.

Uploading Your Files

  • Each file must be uploaded individually
  • Accepted file types: .mp4, .mp3, .pdf, and .ppt.

Special Note

AMIA recently upgraded the database and all users are required to reset their password prior to logging in.

Naming Your Files

Please use the following format when naming your your files prior to uploading:

Session Number_Presenter Last Name

Example
  • S01_johnson.mp4
  • S12_walker.ppt

Specific Requirements

  • The .mp4 file cannot exceed 4 gigabytes and cannot be longer than 15 minutes.

  • The mp4 file cannot exceed 4 gigabytes and cannot longer than 30 minutes.

Audio File

  • Your audio recording cannot exceed 5 minutes.
  • It must be saved as an .mp3 file.

Poster File

  • This is a PDF of your actual poster. The file size cannot exceed 5 MB.

  • The .mp4 file, should you choose to record your presentation, cannot exceed 4 gigabytes.

Presenters are required to upload their slides of their presentation.  We also encourage panel presenters to submit a recording of their presentations to be included in the virtual conference offering and the post-conference digital collection.

We appreciate that panel presentations are not always conducive to pre-recordings, which is why it is optional. If you can share your presentation, you have the options of recording either:

  1. just your individual presentation within your panel; or
  2. a recording of the entire panel with all presentations. You will need to coordinate with your colleagues on the panel if you choose to submit this option.

  • The .mp4 file cannot exceed 4 gigabytes and cannot be longer than 5 minutes.
  • Your Ignite talk will contain exactly 20 slides, 15 seconds each, and automatically advance.

  • The mp4 file, should you choose to record your presentation, cannot exceed 4 gigabytes. 

Workshop presenters are required to upload their presentation slides. We encourage workshop presenters to submit a recording of their presentations for the inclusion in the post-conference virtual collection. 

We appreciate that workshop presentations are not always conducive to pre-recordings, which is why it is optional. If you can share your presentation you have the options of recording either:

  1. your individual presentation within your workshop; or
  2. a recording of the entire workshop with all presentations.  You will need to coordinator with you co-presenters if you choose this option.

You may elect to have each speaker upload their own slides or consolidate all presentations into one PowerPoint slide deck.  If you chose to do that latter, please include "All presenters"  in the naming convention.

Your PowerPoint presentation will be uploaded to a computer in the meeting room where your presentation will take place. It is critical that you upload your slides as requested by May 12, 2022.

Computer for Onsite Presentations

All presenters in the Scientific Sessions are required to use the provided PC laptop computer for their presentation content. Presenters will not be permitted to use their personal laptops or other presentation devices. There will be no exceptions.
