Washington, DC – 24 new Fellows will be inducted into the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI) on November 16, 2025, at a ceremonial dinner during the 2025 American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Annual Symposium. New Fellows are elected annually to the College by active members of ACMI.

AMIA'sAnnual Symposiumpresents leading-edge scientific research on biomedical and health informatics, showcasing more than 600 presentations across 150 sessions. The work presented spans the spectrum of the informatics field: translational bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, clinical informatics, consumer health informatics, and public health informatics.

“I am honored to welcome the Class of 2025 ACMI Fellows. Each year, election to ACMI becomes more competitive, and this cohort exemplifies the highest achievement in biomedical and health informatics. This year’s Fellows bring expertise from academia, healthcare, government, and industry, and their lasting impact, leadership, and scholarship continue to advance how we use information and innovations like artificial intelligence to improve health. Their accomplishments—and their dedication to the science and practice of informatics—strengthen ACMI’s collective mission and ensure we stay at the forefront of innovation in biomedical and health informatics,” said ACMI President Peter Embi, MD, MS, FACMI, FAMIA, FIAHSI Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Medicine, Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The FACMI designation is a mark of distinction and pride. ACMI is an honorary College of elected Informatics Fellows from the United States and abroad who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics and who have met rigorous scholarly scrutiny by their peers. Incorporated in 1984, ACMI dissolved its separate corporate status to merge with the American Association for Medical Systems and Informatics (AAMSI) and the Symposium on Computer Applications in Medical Care (SCAMC), when AMIA was formed in 1989. The College now exists as an entity within AMIA, with its own bylaws and regulations.
