Fellows of AMIA (FAMIA)
FAMIA stands for “Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association” and it recognizes the contributions and professional accomplishments of AMIA members who apply informatics skills and knowledge to their practice – be that in a clinical setting, a public or population health capacity, or as a clinical researcher.
The Education Committee’s primary function is to advise, develop, support, and continuously evaluate a comprehensive approach to educational and practice-based training opportunities for members and the learning needs of AMIA's various audiences.Learn more about this group
Public Policy Committee
The committee recommends advocacy issues and activities and identifies critical areas for AMIA's strategic advocacy engagement for Board approval. The committee works with AMIA’s policy consultant, staff, and Board to develop annual work plans which support the strategic directions set by the Board. The committee works with the staff in developing and reviewing draft submissions in response to requests for comments in support of AMIA positions and helps prepare position papers on matters of public policy.Learn more about this group
