The sharing of scientific data accelerates biomedical discovery by improving research rigor and reproducibility, broadening access to high-value datasets, and facilitating data reuse for future research studies. In support of the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) efforts to make available to the public the results of research it supports and conducts, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) has developed the NLM Dataset Catalog, a centralized platform designed to improve the discoverability and reuse of research data by allowing users to search, find, and connect biomedical datasets across disparate source repositories. Initially launched as a “beta” product in early 2024, the Catalog incorporates enhancements based off user feedback. During this webinar, the speakers will provide insights on the relaunched NLM Dataset Catalog and its underlying data model, as well as current efforts to enhance access to research resulting from NIH funding.
