The sustainable and responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI)into healthcare requires not only advanced technology but also a workforce equipped to develop, deploy, and oversee these tools. While considerable attention ha been devoted to pilot projects and implementation pathways for AI systems, a significant gap remains in preparing clinicians, researchers, and operational leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide and evaluate AI-driven change. This panel examines strategies for integrating AI competencies into existing graduate, professional, and in-career learning programs as a core component of developing a digital-ready health and healthcare workforce. It will highlight efforts across education, governance, and organizational change that are enabling professionals to align AI adoption with improved outcomes, equity, and efficiency.
