AMIA is sponsoring a Student Volunteer Program whereby a limited number of current AMIA student members may receive waived registration to the AMIA 2021 Annual Symposium (this does not include travel, hotel or meals) in exchange for serving as a room monitor at workshops, plenary sessions, scientific sessions, and town hall meetings.

 The purpose of the award program is to cover trainee registration for the 2021 AMIA Annual Symposium in order to present their research. (Note: Open to trainees who have an accepted presentation.)

The AMIA 2021 Annual Symposium will include a dedicated presentation session, educational activities, and networking events for high school students and high school teachers participating in educational and research partnerships with biomedical informatics researchers across the U.S. High school students who have participated in educational or research activities at biomedical informatics programs are invited to submit presentations and abstracts for consideration in the High School Scholars Program and Competition.

The AHIC program (i.e., becoming certified as an ACHIP) provides objective, third-party validation of mastery of health informatics and demonstrates expertise to employers, patients, grantors, publications, students, and other stakeholders. AHIC signals commitment to maintaining professional competency, continuous learning, and adhering to professional standards.

The 2021 Linking Informatics and Education Academic Forum (LIEAF) provides an opportunity for Academic Forum Members to learn state-of-the-art approaches and best practices in education, research, and training; and to build, support, and strengthen the academic informatics community. The conference is designed for faculty and staff who are committed to their own professional growth and the growth of their program. The Informatics Educators Forum also serves multidisciplinary, inter-professional informatics professionals at all levels of academic informatics.
