Amir Dan Rubin has focused his career on helping transform healthcare. He launched Healthier Capital to partner with technology-powered innovators to advance healthier outcomes for all.
Amir previously served as Chair & CEO of the technology-enabled primary care company, One Medical, which he took public in 2020 and sold to Amazon for $3.9B in the beginning of 2023. At Amazon, he helped launch One Medical’s membership model as an add-on to Amazon Prime membership. Prior to that, Amir served as an EVP at the Fortune 5 company, UnitedHealth Group and its Optum division. Prior to that, he served as CEO at Stanford University’s health system, COO at UCLA’s health system, COO at SUNY Stony Brook’s health system, and in leadership roles at Memorial Hermann’s health system. Amir has also twice received an EY “Entrepreneur of the Year” award. He holds MBA and MHSA degrees from the University of Michigan, and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Christopher Longhurst, MD, MS, is the Chief Clinical and Innovation Officer (CCIO) at UC San Diego Health, where he provides executive oversight for the Offices of the Chief Medical Officer, Quality and Patient Safety, Care Management, Information Services, and the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Center for Health Innovation (JCHI). In this role, he integrates UC San Diego Health’s digital strategy with its leading clinical care, leveraging advanced technologies, data-driven models, and clinical research to improve patient outcomes. As Executive Director of JCHI, he leads efforts to develop AI-driven solutions that enhance personalized treatment, health equity, and patient experience through integration of diverse health data sources, including wearables, imaging, bedside monitors, and electronic health records.
Dr. Longhurst also serves as Associate Dean at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, guiding education and research within the clinical environment. He oversees the academic medical center’s quality, safety, and performance excellence initiatives, working closely with leaders across the health system, School of Medicine, and Jacobs School of Engineering to advance innovative patient-centered care. A board-certified pediatrician and clinical informaticist, he maintains an active clinical practice as a newborn hospitalist and contributes to scholarship in care quality, patient safety, and health informatics. His work has been instrumental in expanding UC San Diego Health’s capacity to function as a highly reliable, learning health system.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Longhurst was the Chief Medical Information Officer at Stanford Children's Health, where he established the nation’s first accredited clinical informatics fellowship and led strategic initiatives to improve pediatric care through technology. At UC San Diego Health, he previously served as Chief Medical Officer, Chief Digital Officer, and Chief Information Officer, overseeing technology strategy, clinical excellence, and operational improvements. Dr. Longhurst completed his medical degree and a Master of Science in Medical Informatics at UC Davis and his residency at Stanford University. An elected fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, he has authored numerous publications on leveraging data and technology to enhance healthcare quality and outcomes.
