Physicians in AMIA (PINA) Awards
Physicians in AMIA (PINA) serves as the professional home for all physician informaticians, fostering leadership, collaboration, and advancement in clinical informatics. Sponsored by PINA, the PINA Awards honor excellence, innovation, and meaningful contributions to the field. Awards are presented annually at the PINA Business Meeting during the Clinical Informatics Conference.
Applied Clinical Informatics Fellow Award
This award recognizes a physician informatician who has made outstanding contributions to the field of clinical informatics. Nominees should demonstrate integrity, leadership, and significant impact in areas such as education, equity, applied informatics, research, or the advancement of the profession. Honorees are viewed by peers as national leaders and role models who set the standard for excellence in clinical informatics.

Informatics Physician Leader of the Year Award
This award recognizes a physician informatics leader working within a healthcare delivery organization who demonstrates hands-on leadership in the practical application of informatics. Honorees are deeply involved in day-to-day operations, strategy, and/or governance, and have successfully led initiatives such as EMR implementations, modernization efforts, change management, data governance, or quality improvement. This award honors those “in the trenches” who use informatics to drive real-world impact at the local, regional, or national level.
