Concerns about patient privacy have limited access to COVID-19 datasets. Data synthesis is one approach for making such data broadly available to the research community in a privacy protective manner.

While well-designed clinical decision support (CDS) alerts can improve patient care, utilization management, and population health, excessive alerting may be counterproductive, leading to clinician burden and alert fatigue. We sought to develop machine learning models to predict whether a clinician will accept the advice provided by a CDS alert. Such models could reduce alert burden by targeting CDS alerts to specific cases where they are most likely to be effective.

Vital status is of central importance to hospital clinical research. However, hospital information systems record only in-hospital death information. Recently, the French government released a publicly available dataset containing death-certificate data for over 25 million individuals. The objective of this study was to link French death certificates to the Bordeaux University Hospital records to complete the vital status information.

The objectives of this study are to construct the high definition phenotype (HDP), a novel time-series data structure composed of both primary and derived parameters, using heterogeneous clinical sources and to determine whether different predictive models can utilize the HDP in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to improve neonatal mortality prediction in clinical settings.

We developed a digital scribe for automatic medical documentation by utilizing elements of patient-centered communication. Excessive time spent on medical documentation may contribute to physician burnout. Patient-centered communication may improve patient satisfaction, reduce malpractice rates, and decrease diagnostic testing expenses. Trauma quality improvement programs and registries improve care and outcomes for injured patients.
