Tuberculosis is the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent. The emergence of antimicrobial resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains makes the problem more severe. Pyrazinamide (PZA) is an important component for short-course treatment regimens and first- and second-line treatment regimens.
