Provisions Regarding Access to Americans' Bulk Sensitive Personal Data and Government-Related Data by Countries of Concern

Thank you for the opportunity to submit comments to the National Security Division of the Department of Justice advanced notice for proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) join provisions regarding access to Americans’ bulk sensitive personal data and government-related data by countries of concern. As the leading organization of professionals working with healthcare data and protected health information (PHI), the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) supports the Administration’s efforts to protect American data and encourages the recognition that data privacy policies must also account for preservation of health innovation opportunities and informing public health.
