AMIA has submitted our response to CMS’s Health Tech Ecosystem Initiative, underscoring the vital role of informatics in shaping the future of health care. We highlighted our decades of leadership advancing standards like FHIR and TEFCA, training the clinical informatics workforce, and driving innovation. In our comments, we stressed protecting patient privacy, ensuring AI is transparent and accountable, and addressing bias to promote equitable care. We also emphasized workforce development through fellowships and outcome-based measures of success. AMIA stands ready to partner with CMS by bringing our expertise, governance, and vision to maximize the initiative’s impact.
