AMIA Recommends Enhancements to USCDI v7 and Priorities for USCDI v8

AMIA supports USCDI v7’s expanded data classes and elements while urging ONC to make future standards clearer, more implementable, and less burdensome. For USCDI v8, AMIA recommends a transparent pathway from USCDI+, stronger implementation guidance, richer provenance for AI-assisted information, and refinements across adverse events, care plans, imaging, devices, medications, demographics, environmental risks, and vital signs to advance equitable, reliable nationwide interoperability and improve health outcomes nationwide.
