AMIA Joins Call for Continued Investment in ARPA-H

On April 23, 2025, AMIA joined over 100 organizations urging Congress to allocate at least $1.7 billion for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in FY 2026, emphasizing the importance of maintaining its independence within the Department of Health and Human Services. ARPA-H, modeled after DARPA, has initiated 23 programs and nearly 150 projects targeting transformative health innovations, such as bioprinted organs and implantable cancer monitors. Its nationwide network, including the Investor Catalyst Hub and Customer Experience Hub, engages over a thousand organizations to ensure equitable access to health breakthroughs across all U.S. communities.
