AMIA Recommends USCDI v7 Enhancements and Priorities for USCDI v8
AMIA submitted recommendations supporting USCDI v7’s expanded data classes and elements while identifying opportunities to improve clarity, implementation, and burden. For USCDI v8, AMIA recommends a transparent pathway for incorporating USCDI+ content, clearer implementation guidance, stronger provenance for AI-assisted information, and refinements to adverse-event, care-plan, imaging, device, medication, insurance, and other data elements to support consistent, clinically meaningful health information exchange and reduce ambiguity for implementers nationwide.
