Public Biography
Dr. Yizhao Ni is a data scientist/software engineer with over 15 years of research experience in machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and their applications in health informatics. He obtained his BSc degree in Automation at Xiamen University, China. He had lived in England for 7 years, where he completed his MSc in Intelligent systems at University College London, his PhD in NLP at University of Southampton, and his postdoctoral training in music information retrieval at University of Bristol. He recently completed his MBA focusing on leadership and management at University of Cincinnati. Dr. Ni's interest is the development and implementation of machine learning, NLP and information retrieval technologies to assist clinical decision-making. His work is application-oriented and the overall objective is to improve the quality of health care by: (1) providing more effective provisioning of usable data (efficiency), (2) assisting clinicians to generate more objective clinical decisions (effectiveness), and (3) providing more reliable proactive prediction of clinical outcomes (safety).
