Historic ACMI Biography
Dr. Tachinardi has worked in the field of biomedical informatics since his fellowship in 1984. His career at the Heart Institute of S„o Paulo University Medical School involved ECG signal processing, telemedicine, and EHRs. He rose to the position of CIO while there in 2001 and was then recruited to be Chief Information Officer for the Sao Paulo State Secretary of Health. He has since been recruited to carry out similar work at the University of Chicago and University of Wisconsin-Health. His work on clinical research information systems has propelled him to be elected co-chair of the IKFC of the National CTSA Consortium and the chair of the AMIA Clinical Research Informatics Working Group.
