Public Biography
Dr. Karki is a graduate of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Public Health Informatics Fellowship Program (PHIFP). He leads efforts to make health systems more connected, efficient, and responsive to real-world needs. He developed the Syphilis Automated Records Search Algorithm, which more than doubled the accuracy and timeliness of disease investigations across health departments in the United States. He also co-directed the development and implementation of CDC’s guidelines-based clinical decision support (CDS) systems to integrate appropriate screening and treatment standards at the point of care. In addition, he has led innovative digital health initiatives, such as the Google and Apple Exposure Notification app during the COVID-19 pandemic and the redesign of The Carter Center’s surveillance information system for the Chad Guinea Worm Eradication Program.

He is dedicated to improving health outcomes through data-driven innovation and digital transformation.
