Robert S. Wigton is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Medical Education. For the past 6 years he has directed a yearly national symposium on computers in medical education at the University of Nebraska. He is founder and coordinator of the joint computer users group of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Society for Medical Decision Making. He has performed several studies comparing online bibliographic searching systems and has written and conducted workshops and seminars on that topic. He has also played a key role in clinical projects that use COSTAR in preventive ambulatory care.
