Public Biography
Ratilal Akabari is a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Informatics at the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at SUNY Upstate Medical University. With over a decade of experience in cancer genomics, molecular diagnostics, bioinformatics, and clinical informatics, his work focuses on advancing precision medicine through translational research and computational innovation.
His research interests include multiscale drug discovery and repurposing, electronic health record (EHR) driven clinical validation, machine learning, next generation sequencing (NGS), and AI enabled therapeutic development. Ratilal has contributed to the development and validation of molecular diagnostic assays and bioinformatics pipelines adopted in clinical laboratories for hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and genetic disorders.
He actively contributes to the scientific community through peer review, leadership in molecular pathology informatics, and interdisciplinary collaboration bridging computational biology and clinical medicine. As a member of the Student Editorial Board (SEB), he is committed to promoting scientific communication, innovation, and impactful biomedical research.
