Ramesh S. Patil is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a member of the Clinical Decision Making Group at the Laboratory for Computer Science. He has made important contributions to the concept of multilevel causal representation for medical diagnosis. His work on application of artificial intelligence techniques to medical diagnosis has been in the area of electrolyte and acid-base disorders.
