Public Biography
Mattias Georgsson is a RN with a Masterís degree in Nursing and a Masterís degree in Health Informatics from Karolinska Institutet and a MPH from Karlstad University, Sweden. He has also studied computer science and computer technology resulting in a Masterís degree in Information Technology, with a specialization in Interaction Design and Usability at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. He completed his PhD 2018 in Applied Health Technology at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden. Thereafter he was a Post doc in eHealth and Nursing at University West, Sweden. He currently works as an Assistant Professor at Jonkoping University in Sweden. His previous experience includes working as a nurse in various functions (such as district, ambulance, ward) and as a research nurse in different medical technology projects. He has also worked as an ICT Project Manager for eLearning and as a Research Assistant and IT engineer within telemedicine and eLearning. In addition he has been part of projects involving ICT solutions for the support and monitoring of TB patients at the WHO in Manila, the Philippines. Mattias' research involves usability evaluation and assessment of eHealth and especially mobile health technologies for chronic disease self-management. His PhD focused on patient-centered usability evaluation methods for mobile health diabetes self-management systems. He is the chair of the Swedish Society for Nursing Informatics.
