Public Biography
I am a practicing hospitalist, professor of clinical medicine, and associate CMIO at Penn Medicine. I develop and implement system strategies for health information and use of electronic systems. I am a leader of our clinical decision support program and chair key governance committees. During our enterprise EHR implementation, I served as a lead for the inpatient program and developed innovations that advanced the integration of our health system, as well as initiating a critical and successful change management effort. Within AMIA, I have served on the Annual Symposium and the Clinical Informatics Conference program committees and have been privileged to contribute three total terms as an active member on the Public Policy Committee. I was a member of the inaugural class of Fellows of AMIA in 2019. I am board certified through ABPM in Clinical Informatics. I have presented and published about clinical decision support, EHR implementation and unintended consequences, patient safety, health informatics policy, automated triage tools, and artificial intelligence in health care.
