Historic ACMI Biography

Profile image
Dr. Campbell has been a consistent contributor for over 30 years at the national and international level in the area of medical terminology evaluation, and real-life implementations of EMRs, which he has helped to enhance for his institutionĂs use and more broadly for the country. He has been active at the interface of the academic aspects of terminologies while attacking the practical realities of implementing them in areas such as guidelines and problem lists. He has chaired multiple national and international committees addressing issues surrounding terminology use and SNOMED specifically. Most recently, he has led the international team mapping SNOMED CT to ICD-10, bringing a calm, productive and evidence-based approach to finding solutions that balance competing priorities and carefully address organizational and professional needs.
