Historic ACMI Biography
Dr. Savova has made major contributions to clinical NLP and EMR phenotyping. She developed methods for named entity recognition, event recognition, relation detection and classification. She contributed numerous gold-standard resources used by informatics researchers around the world, and also led development of cTAKES, a widely used open-source clinical NLP platform.
