Dr. Alterovitz led the design of the SMART-on-FHIR Genomics specification and HL7 ìDomain Analysis Model (DAM): Clinical Sequencingî use cases for communication clinical genomic information. The SMART-on-FHIR Genomics work was adopted by the international emerging standard, FHIR, as the underlying data model and API for genomic information (see #1 in Bibliography).
