Historic ACMI Biography

Profile image
Dr. Rubin, a faculty in Radiology and Medicine at Stanford University, has brought a unique dimension to AMIA and to informatics nationally, having developed semantic and quantitative methods in imaging. His work is enabling a new paradigm of big data discovery in Radiology, making image interpretation more objective by quantifying image features that characterize disease, and leading to new decision support tools for clinicians. He has a national reputation in imaging informatics as Chair of the RadLex steering committee of the RSNA, Chair of the Informatics Committee of ECOG/ACRIN, and Co-Chair of the AMIA Biomedical Imaging Informatics working group. His scholarship is exemplary, having won two AMIA Distinguished Paper Awards, being well-funded by NIH and other grants, and having published over 130 peer-reviewed papers.
