Public Biography
Dr. Bimal Desai serves as Vice President and Chief Health Informatics Officer at CHOP and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. A practicing pediatrician and clinical informaticist, he leads large-scale programs in clinical informatics, clinical AI, pediatric telehealth, electronic consults, and remote patient monitoring. His operational and academic work focuses on improving care quality, advancing research, and reducing clinician burden. He lectures nationally and internationally on the use of health IT to support clinical decision-making and care.
