Alicemary Aspell MBA, BSN, RN, NI-BC, CPHIMS, PMP
Board-certified informatics nurse with over 25 years of experience in health and biomedical informatics. Served as staff nurse, nursing management, nursing informatics coordinator, nurse informaticist and nurse consultant. Leads clinical health implementations and selection of health information technology solutions. Understands change management principles and working background in quality and patient safety. Currently employed at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) within Veterans Integrated Service Network-New England (VISN 1) for the past 15 years. Leading and managing numerous VHA informatics portfolios and projects VISN 1-wide. Experienced as a federal contract officer representative and Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy Fellow, with a focus on health information technology.

Other relevant experience: Informatics SME within non-profit, for-profit, department of defense, and federal government environments. Netzer Fellow, National Security Institute Scholar, and research assistant within the Department of Computer Science and MOVES at the Naval Postgraduate School. Assisted with research in human factors, complex systems, and human in the loop, with a personal interest in exploring both the full potential and limitations of technology’s impact on healthcare for humans. Formal leadership training as an active-duty military officer, full ROTC nursing scholarship, and active-duty USAF nursing fellowship.
