Historic ACMI Biography

Dr. WilcoxĂ­s research and interests are focused on the application of health information technology to effectively transform care, and to transform research and discovery. His work has contributed to these areas consistently over the last 15 years with high-impact results. He was a lead architect of the plan for a comprehensive next-generation EHR at Intermountain Healthcare, he led the redesign of the acclaimed Web-based Clinical Information System application at Columbia University, and directed an HIE in northern Manhattan. He led the initial development of an advanced primary care model using health IT to support care coordination and care management. Currently, he is the principal investigator for WICER, an AHRQ PROSPECT project, which is evaluating the benefit of EHR data for secondary data use and analysis.

Maturity models are instruments to define and facilitate organization management with regard to a particular function or behavior. Maturity models allow organizational self-assessment based on multiple axes, including organizational culture, process standardization and technology to arrive at a final overall maturity level, and also allowing organizations to identify areas of weakness.
