Nursing Informatics Innovators: Pat Button
Dr. Button is Chief Nursing Officer for Zynx Health, where she is responsible for the ZynxCare™ product that provides customizable evidence based interdisciplinary plans of care. She has particular depth of knowledge of the critical success factors of effective systems development and implementation, experience in managing large, complex projects, and the use of process and workflow analysis as the basis for the development of effective implementation and support programs. She is a national leader in the development of models and tools to support the use of standardized nursing and healthcare languages in clinical software systems. Dr. Button is active in the healthcare industry with a focus on the development of systems that support the improvement of the quality and safety of care. She is past Chair of the American Medical Informatics Association Nursing Informatics Working Group and a founding member of the Executive Steering Committee of the Nursing Terminology Summit.
