In a data-driven society, there is a need for clinical researchers to apply the power of data to health research — having a role in the advancement of science to improve population health and health outcomes. The online graduate certificate in clinical research from UMKC is designed to help prepare professionals to fill this need, further their education and advance their careers in the field.

The graduate certificate program consists of the core courses offered in the master of science in bioinformatics clinical research curriculum. It is a valuable credential for health care professionals (e.g., junior faculty, clinical fellows, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, clinical research coordinators) who want in-depth exposure to essential tools needed to advance their research career, but who are unable to devote the requisite time to a full master’s degree program.

In less than a year, this program exposes graduates to real-world examples and assessments to help them think analytically, increase research productivity and understand the “why” behind their work. The faculty members are actively doing their own research, and are passionate about preparing their students to succeed in the industry.
