Stony Brook is New York’s flagship university, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, and New York's #1 public university. Our Master of Science program in Applied Health Informatics exposes students to the latest tools and techniques in data analytics, clinical information systems management and project management required to successfully manage technologies run by health systems, payers, and technology companies to improve patient outcomes. Developed by a team of Stony Brook faculty and industry experts, students learn about deployment and the application of information technology to solve problems in healthcare. Students can attend the program full-time or part-time, and online or via a hybrid model.

The program includes two tracks (data analytics and clinical systems lifecycle management), as well as a 360-hour practicum/internship or a quality improvement (capstone) project option. Our graduates are employed at health systems, community practice networks, health IT vendors, health tech startups, payers and consulting firms.
