The Clinical Informatics Fellowship at HonorHealth is designed to train fellows in all aspects of clinical informatics including tools, concepts and methods. Our unique program will include faculty who are part of the HonorHealth Clinical Informatics Department and faculty from the Biomedical Informatics Program at Arizona State University's (ASU) College of Health Solutions.
Fellows will:
- Learn to use the outcomes of their work to produce and disseminate scholarly work
- Serve as consultants collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare, IT and c-suite professionals to advance and improve clinical support systems, patient safety and quality in a wide range of settings
- Receive their master's degree in biomedical informatics from ASU and gain knowledge and skills in informatics to enable them to:
- Detect disease early
- Improve the patient hospital experience
- Improve the provider experience
- Improve the precision of diagnosis
- Improve the quality of patient health care and reduce its cost
- Minimize hospital visits
- Work with several different EMRs including EPIC (internal EMR) and Cerner (in collaboration with other health systems)
- Learn and imbed process improvement principles within technology solutions
- Have the opportunity to rotate to a wide variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, ambulatory care centers, FQHCs, health information exchanges, insurers
