Public Biography
I became interested in Informatics about 1999 when PDAs appeared and facilitated electronic calculators and textbooks. In 2004 I began teaching Medical Informatics at the University of West Florida and shortly after that I launched the textbook Health Informatics: Practical Guide for Healthcare and Information Technology Professionals. It is now in its seventh edition (June 2018). Bill Hersh is the Co-Editor. My current interest is data science, in particular predictive analytics. I published Introduction to Biomedical Data Science in December 2019 and published Data Preparation and Exploration in December 2020.
