Patricia Brennan, RN

Patricia Flatley Brennan, RN, PhD, is an associate professor of nursing (systems engineering, by courtesy) at Case Western Reserve university. Dr. Brennan received a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following seven years of clinical practice in critical care nursing and psychiatric nursing, Dr. Brennan held several academic positions. She developed and directed the ComputerLink, an electronic network designed to reduce isolation and improve self-care among home care patients. Dr. Brennan was a visiting scholar at the Stanford University Medical Informatics Section (1993) and Texas Childrenís Hospital (2003). She received the Lillian S. Brunner award for Innovation in Nursing Practice from the Univerity of Pennsylvania in1991. In 1990, Dr. Brennan and her Patient Informatics Group received the Sigma Theta Tau Innovation in Nursing Practice Award. Dr. Brennan is fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (1991).
