Public Biography
Meredith C. B. Adams, M.D., M.S., is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Biomedical Informatics, and Public Health Sciences at the Wake Forest Health Science Center. She received her anesthesiology training at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and served as chief resident. She completed her pain medicine and basic clinical investigations training at Johns Hopkins. From there, she accepted her first faculty position at the University of Florida and completed her MS-Clinical Translational Science. She previously served as the Program Director of the Pain Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Co-Director of the Pediatric Pain Medicine Fellowship. Her fellowship was recognized by the American Academy of Pain Medicineís Fellowship Excellence Award in 2016. Her research interests are novel approaches to pain education and pain biomedical informatics. She was funded by the FAER-SAAA Research in Education grant to develop and test a mobile education app for pain education for residents. She was recently funded by NIH National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering receiving a Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Award (K08). Her work includes informatics approaches to unlock key pain information from the electronic health record.
