Public Biography
Dr. Harm Scherpbier is the Chief Medical Information Officer at HealthShare Exchange, the Philadelphia regional Health Information Exchange, focusing on expanding the reach and relevance of the information exchange in clinical care and population health. He is a Physician Advisor for several Health IT firms. In addition, he is a Digital Health Strategy Advisor at Starbridge Advisors LLC partnering with health care provider organizations on clinical information systems, population health solutions, analytics, and health IT implementation and strategy. Dr. Scherpbier is Adjunct Faculty at the Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health, teaching Health Informatics and Population Health Analytics. Dr. Scherpbier was previously the Chief Medical Information Officer at Main Line Health, a 5-hospital Integrated Health Network near Philadelphia, PA, where he was responsible for the implementation of healthcare information systems and electronic patient records for physicians, nurses and other clinicians throughout the health system. He held positions in software engineering and product management at Siemens Health Services, CareScience, Aetna US Healthcare and SMS. He completed his medical training at the University of Groningen, and his MS in Medical Informatics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
